The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission seeks employment data in order to determine whether unlawful employment practices have been or are being committed. Employers in the private sector with 100 or more employees and some Federal contractors with 50 or more employees have been required to submit annual reports. The individual reports are confidential. EEOC will use the data to investigate charges of employment discrimination against employers in private industry and to provide information about the employment status of minorities and women.
