Most have heard about the Department of Defense’s plans to cut back on contractors, but there are still questions as to who will be cut. The process meant to inform those decisions could stand some improvement, according to a Jan. 19 report from the Government Accountability Office. The problems showed up when the GAO reviewed the Defense Department’s fiscal 2009 inventory of contract spending and full-time equivalent contractors.
