The Coast Guard, in the Department of Homeland Security, has submitted three Information Collection Requests. All three are extensions of currently approved collections. The Coast Guard has already forwarded all three Information Collection Reports to the OMB for review and comment. The original notice elicited one comment for 1625-0036, but was deemed to be outside the scope of the ICR. New comments must reach the Coast Guard on or before February 18, 2005.
1. Plan Approval and Records for U.S. and Foreign Tank Vessels Carrying Oil in Bulk (OMB Control Number: 1625-0036)
This information collection aids the Coast Guard in determining if a vessel complies with a certain safety and environmental protection standards. Plans/records for construction or modification of U.S. or foreign vessels submitted and/or maintained on board are needed for compliance with these standards. This affects owners and operators of vessels.
2. Application for Permit to Transport Municipal and Commercial Waste (OMB Control Number: 1625-0058)
This information collection provides the basis for issuing or denying a permit for the transportation of municipal or commercial waste in the costal waters of the US. This affects owners and operators of vessels.
3. Commercial Fishing Industry Vessel Safety Regulations (OMB Control Number 625-0061)
This information collection is intended to improve safety on board vessels in the commercial fishing industry. The requirements apply to those vessels and to seamen on them. This affects owners, agents, individuals-in-charge of commercial fishing vessels, and insurance underwriters.
