Not that the airlines have to be hit with another problem, but the DOT's Inspector General says the FAA is lax on maintenance.
"The Federal Aviation Administration has failed to adequately oversee contractors who do about half the maintenance for the nation's airlines, according to a report by a government watchdog agency."
