The White House stated long ago that it wants technology and medicine to merge, but it's not happy with the pace at which changes are happening. Now there's a renewed vigor to cut costs and errors in the health care system.
Dr. David Brailer is in charge of the project. "Health IT is a priority," he said. "It has to be done with the public and private spheres working together.
Co-Sponsoring Rep. Tim Murphy, said, "There's close to $100 billion that could be saved with use of electronic medical records, and $28 billion to $29 billion worth of medical errors."
