06/16/05 HHS Keeps Everyone in the Loop

While the ONCHIT is moving forward on efforts to develop a standard for national health information techology systems, the HHS Director announced a new American Health Information Community, designed to gather input from all relative parties, keeping the network being designed practical and beneficial to all parties involved. Already, five states are running an independent 'beta' version of a health network, but getting the whole country functionally linked for health care is still primarily on the drawing board.
