Congressional debates over the FCC media ownership rule is turning into one of the most controversial fights over a rule in recent years.
The Senate his moving to invovke the Congressional Review Act which gives Congress, along with the President, the authority to overturn an agency rule. The House is moving to include a rider in an appropriation bill to preclude the FCC from acting on the rule.
The House leadership states that they object to overturning the rule. We agree with the following statement:
"We've got to get leadership support for this, or I don't think it will get stopped," one lobbyist said."
