Federal regulations dictate certain aspects of the operation of ATM's by banks. One of the more important is the information the bank must give to you about its operation--disclosure.
"Regulation E requires financial institutions to provide written EFT disclosures that are clear and readily understandable and in a form the consumer may keep. Under an interim rule effective since 2001, banks may deliver required disclosures and other information by electronic communication. Section 205.17 establishes guidelines for this."
