Environmental groups have been advocates of wind-to-energy projects for years; they produce energy but without conventional pollution. However, they can be unsightly and noisy.
A massive wind farm has been proposed in Massachuetts. Now the federal government is stepping in by proposing legislation to regulate wind farms. Why must this be handled at the Federal level? Senator Kennedy is a leading sponsor of the bill.
"Spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said Kennedy supports renewable energy. But, she said, "he has significant concerns about the lack of a regulatory framework, specifically a process through which local communities would have a say into the siting of these proposed projects."
