The FAA proposes a plan that applies to all Airbus Models. The existing procedure requires “repetitive inspections of a certain bracket that attaches the flight deck instrument panel to the airplane structure.”
This proposed plan would replace “the existing bracket with a titanium-reinforced bracket, which would end the repetitive inspections.”
Malfunction of the old bracket, combined with the failure of the horizontal beam, could result in the left-side instrument panel collapsing and “reduced of controllability of the airplane.”
