The raging controversy regarding the location of a renewable energy wind farm in Massachussetts has been resolved in part. The Coast Guard stated they had no problem with the proposal. This set back of well funded "environmentalists" such as Senator Kennedy and Walter Cronkite sends a signal, that special interest groups can only cry wolf so many times.
"It is expected that this will become a part of the draft environmental impact statement, however, it is premature for us to make any determination as to whether this is complete or if any additional navigation impact assessment will be required for the draft impact statement," Army Corps spokesman Larry Rosenberg said in a letter accompanying the release of the report yesterday.

In all, 17 state and federal agencies will review impacts from the wind farm. Last May, the Federal Aviation Administration concluded the project poses no hazard for aviation in the area.
Jim Gordon, president of Cape Wind, said he was pleased with the report's findings.
"I certainly think it negates a lot of the fear-mongering that our opponents have fueled relative to navigational impacts," he said."
