The Justice Department is cracking down on companies like Rx Depot, who sell Canadian made drugs in America, for Canadian prices._ The DOJ wrote the president of Rx Depot this week, imploring him to close the stores or face federal litigators._

“The Justice Department said the stores, which are sometimes called Rx of Canada, violate federal law by helping U.S. consumers import drugs from Canada — only manufacturers are allowed to bring medicines into the country.”

Carl Moore, responded by vowing not to close the stores that he feels are desperately needed by seniors who cannot afford high priced medications. _In March, the FDA warned the company to shut down its Arkansas location or face stiff penalties. _Rx Depot did just the opposite by adding more stores in other states._ _

“The FDA said it asked the Justice Department to seek an injunction against Rx Depot "to stop them from importing drugs that pose a serious threat to the public health.”

“Stoops said only allowing drug companies to reimport medicines is a violation of antitrust laws, and he thinks forbidding people to purchase Canadian drugs violates the North American Free Trade Agreement.”
