The Kansas City Star reports:
"Patients of Missouri doctors now can check online whether their caregiver is among 561 disciplined in the past decade by state and federal agencies".
The basic data for the article was from a recent release by Public
Citizen.

The report issued by Public Citizen is a classic example of regulation by information, ie., in lieu of issuing a regulation the public is provided information and they make their own decision.
Regulation by information has many benefits, regulation by misinformation can have results worse than direct regulation.

In response to a growing shortage of physicians in the state, the Governor of the state of Wyoming has proposed a constituional amendment which would allow a cap on medical recoveries.
" Citing a growing health-care crisis, Gov. Dave Freudenthal introduced a proposed constitutional amendment Thursday that would allow state lawmakers to take action on medical malpractice reforms.
The state constitution currently prohibits lawmakers from capping the noneconomic damages that can be recovered in liability lawsuits or creating a panel to review medical malpractice litigation. "
