OMB Directives Lead To New Federal Hiring Practices
The Office of Personnel Management is moving quickly to implement new changes to the federal hiring practices in accordance to new directives issued by the Office of Management and Budget. OPM has tasked each agency to establish a SWAT team of hiring managers and human resource professionals to "map" current hiring procedures, streamline and put in plain language job announcements and improve the process of notifying applicants throughout the selection process. Additionally, the SWAT teams will identify any barriers that an agency is encountering in meeting the new hiring requirements.
