White House Backs Reid Debt-Limit Measure
The White House formally backed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's (D., Nev.) plan to raise the debt ceiling and cut federal spending Saturday shortly before the House was slated to take a symbolic vote to oppose it. The Office of Management and Budget said in a statement of administration policy that it "strongly supports" Reid's plan to raise the debt ceiling through 2012.
