drug scheduling
For those of you unfamiliar, Marijuana is scheduled as a Class 1 Narcotic, meaning that in the eyes of HHS, the FDA and the DEA marijuana has no medical value.
To put that into perspective for you, Amphetamine, Cocaine, Crack, Opium and PCP are Schedule 2 Drugs meaning that the US Government not only recognizes that they have medical value, but that they can be prescribed by a licensed physician.
Not even law enforcement believes that marijuana is more dangerous than amphetamines.
More than 6,500 studies and journal articles from renowned medical research institutions around the world, including the National Institute of Health, have found that marijuana has medicinal value and it's currently used to treat numerous ailments. The federal Data Quality Act requires that government regulatory agencies take into account the most scientifically accurate information in arriving at decisions. If HHS was to follow the law, consider all of the scientific evidence, and find that marijuana does have medicinal value, the DEA would be forced to reschedule marijuana.
Washington patients are simply out of time. We can no longer wait for rescheduling.
