MMS Notices Intent to Prepare EIS for OCS Leases
On February 10, 2005, the Minerals Management Service published Federal Register notice of the agency's intent to perform an Environmental Impact Statement for Outer Continental Self oil and gas leases during the period 2007-2012. The MMS Federal Register notice requests public comment "on significant environmental issues attendant to OCS oil and gas leasing and development which should be evaluated in the EIS....The MMS plans to issue the proposed program and draft EIS in mid-summer 2006 for a 90-day comment period."
