MMS Preparing Ea for Gulf Oil and Gas Lease Sale
The Minerals Management Service announced on June 16, 2006, that it "intends to prepare an environmental assessment (EA) for proposed Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) oil and gas Lease Sale 201 in the Central Gulf of Mexico (GOM) (Lease Sale 201) scheduled for March 2007." The MMS requests public comment "on any new issues or information that should be addressed in the EA." By "new" the MMS means any information or issues that were not available when the MMS published its Gulf Multisale EIS in 2002. Public comments must be received by MMS by July 16, 2006.
