Blog Debate on Whale Killing
Grist magazine has a blog dedicated to "leafy green commentary." One recent thread begins with an essay entitled "Is caring about whales frivolous?" The author asks whether in light of all the other problems in the world, it is frivolous for him to be upset over news that Japan, Norway and Iceland are increasing the scope of their whaling. The many responses to his question include one by "davidintokyo." David discusses the issue in substantial detail, with emphasis on the International Whaling Commission's struggles over commercial whaling regulation. We do not know who David is, but he presents the case for whaling as well as can be. We also compliment some enviro posters who argue against whaling. Any reader interested in this issue is advised to visit the address below.
