NMFS Requests Comment on ConocoPhillips and Union Oil Incidental Take Authorizations
In the January 5, 2007 Federal Register, the National Marine Fisheries Service requested public comment on two proposed Incidental Take Authorizations. One is for ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc., and the other is for Union Oil company of California. Both companies seek Incidental Take Authorizations for their separate spring seismic operations in Cook Inlet, Alaska. If granted, the IHAs would authorize the two companies to incidentally take, by harassment, small numbers of five marine mammal species during their seismic operations.

Public comment must be received no later than February 5, 2007.
