NMFS Requests Comment on 3D Seismic IHA for Cook Inlet
On September 21, 2011, the U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service published Federal Register notice that NMFS has received an application from Apache Alaska Corporation for an Incidental Harassment Authorization to take marine mammals, by harassment, incidental to a proposed 3D seismic survey in Cook Inlet, Alaska, between November 2011 and November 2012. This IHA application is filed with NMFS pursuant to the Marine Mammal Protection Act. NMFS requests comments and information on the application no later than October 21, 2011. Apache originally submitted its application on June 15, 2011. After addressing comments from NMFS, Apache modified its application and re-submitted it.
