®: CRE Regulatory Action of the Week Cell Phone Tower Health and Safety Issues on Agenda at NIOSH Board of Scientific Counselors Meeting March 10. The Board of Scientific Counselors (BSC) of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) will meet on March 10, 2000 to provide advice to the agency on its research activities. Interested stakeholders and the public are encouraged to attend this meeting and to follow this hazard research closely. Adverse NIOSH findings could quickly raise fears among the general public, particularly with respect to telecommunication towers, and could ultimately lead to additional federal, state, and local regulations. It is thus imperative that the quality of this research be assured, and CRE strongly encourages open communication between NIOSH and interested stakeholders.
