По документам машина двигалась в Германию, а вот вместо заявленных деревянных поддонов перевозила огромную контрабанду сигарет производства Беларуси.
Машина везла на Запад сигареты «Фестиваль», «NZ», «Минск» с белорусскими акцизными марками в количестве 11 млн. 650 тыс. штук. Лишь только в Литве товар был оценен на сумму более 1 млн.800 тыс. евро, в Германии эта цифра увеличилась бы еще больше.

Authorities from 15 Latin American countries meet to discuss how to fight contraband

This week the Latin American Anti-Contraband Alliance (ALAC) is meeting for the first time in Brazil. Maryland Comptroller FED Agents Arrest NY Man in Eastern Shore Cigarette Stop

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (August 27, 2018) – Comptroller Peter Franchot has announced that agents from his Field Enforcement Division (FED) have arrested a New York man who has been charged in Maryland as a result of a surveillance operation on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
“My FED agents’ vigilance protects Maryland businesses and taxpayers from those who try to cheat the system with their illegal activities in transporting tobacco products through our state,” Comptroller Peter Franchot said. “I am very proud of their dedicated service and steadfast ability to identify these criminals.”

BRASILIA – Smuggling, estimated to be an $80 billion a year business in Latin America, is an obstacle to economic development, speakers said on Tuesday at a meeting of the Latin American Anti-Smuggling Alliance, which brings together officials and private sector actors from a dozen nations.
The smuggling business is now connected to organized crime, said the Brazilian member of the ALAC board, Edson Luiz Vismona.
