New Australian Border Forces figures show tobacco black market is booming with 400 tonnes seized in two years

ILLEGAL tobacco weighing more than 400 tonnes and worth almost $300 million in lost duty has been seized by the Australian Border Force in the past two years.

New statistics released to the Herald Sun show the scale of the booming tobacco black market in Australia. Since the ABF was established in July 2015, more than 100 ­people have been charged with ­tobacco smuggling offences.
