Court Dismisses Challenge to Trump Administration's Science Advisory Committee Policy
A federal judge has found that environmentalists have standing to challenge the Trump administration's controversial policy barring EPA grant recipients from serving on its scientific advisory committees though he dismissed the suit on the merits, raising the bar for any appeal. The judge wrote, "The Directive is a reasonable exercise of the Administrator's broad appointment discretion, and EPA's explanation that it sought to 'ensur[e] integrity and confidence in [its] [advisory committees],' . . . fits comfortably within the zone of reasonableness."
