Federal-Aid Highways Act of 1968
Federal-Aid Highways Act of 1968 -- As amended by the Department of
Transportation Act of 1966, P.L. 97-499 (49 U.S.C. 303; 96 Stat. 2419), section
4(f) of this Act establishes requirements for approval of Federal highways
through wildlife refuges and other designated areas to preserve the natural
beauty of such areas. The Secretary of Transportation is directed to consult
with the Secretary of the Interior and other Federal agencies before approving
any program or project requiring the use of land under their jurisdiction.
