The notion of compulsory data breach notifications is leaving some internet security experts and business leaders cold, despite the barrage of cyber attacks plaguing Australian companies on a daily basis.

But an expert panel in Sydney have argued that vague legislation would swamp businesses in compliance requirements instead of addressing the cultural changes that need to take place in order for companies to properly mitigate this growing cyber threat.
