COLUMBIA, S.C. — Officials have told lawmakers that South Carolina has no consistent plan for computer security among state agencies, more than a year after the state’s revenue department was hacked.

The State newspaper reported (http://bit.ly/1krZDa1 ) some senators said Tuesday they want to make cyber-security mandatory for state agencies.

Columbia Sen. Joel Lourie says the process has not moved as quickly as it should, after financial information for more than six million taxpayers was taken in 2012.
