Cybersecurity Contractor Names Former GSA IT Exec as Chief Strategist

David McClure, who served as associate administrator for GSA’s Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies from 2009 until 2014, has been hired as chief strategist at Vienna, Va.-based Veris Group, a cybersecurity and cloud computing firm and federal contractor. McClure, who retired earlier this year from GSA, is credited with helping to shepherd the government’s adoption of cloud computing (including the fedRAMP cloud standards), Challenge.gov, USA.gov and Data.gov, among other efforts. McClure’s office also oversaw the creation of GSA’s 18F digital services agency while he was there.
