Army official warns that the U.S. may be vulnerable to cyber attacks during natural disasters

The commander of U.S. Army North — which coordinates the military’s response to domestic security crises — worries about a nightmare scenario of a terrorist cyber attack being perpetrated during a natural disaster.
“What concerns me is if we’re in the middle of responding to a natural disaster and our focus is completely there … and then all of the sudden we get a manmade threat come in and take us from the backside,” Army Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan said Oct. 7.
