EPA’s Pesticide Advisory Committee Site

EPA has put up a web site about the Agency’s Pesticide Advisory Committees. This EPA site explains that

“Advisory committees provide advice to EPA on pesticide regulatory, technical, and policy issues.  Meetings are organized under the Federal Advisory Committee Act:

Meetings are open to the public.

Anyone can submit comments before or after meetings.

Anyone can make statements during meetings.”

EPA’s current pesticide advisory committees are

Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC) meets regularly with EPA to discuss pesticide regulatory, policy, and program implementation issues.

EPA Reorganizes Its Pesticide Registration Division

EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs has undergone a staff reorganization effective October 18, 2014. According to EPA:

“The reorganization created two additional risk management branches and will allow for a greater number of staff to work more directly on registration actions. The Registration Division is responsible for conventional chemical risk management for new chemical registrations, new product registrations, registration amendments and new use reviews, tolerances, experimental use permits, and emergency exemptions for conventional chemical pesticides.

SAP Meets on EDSP Issues

EPA sent the following email to its EDSP ListServe:

“The EPA FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel will meet on December 2-5, 2014 to consider and review scientific issues related to “Integrated Bioactivity and Exposure Ranking: A Computational Approach for the Prioritization and Screening of Chemicals in the Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program.”  The meeting will be held at the Environmental Protection Agency, Conference Center, Lobby Level, One Potomac Yard (South Bldg.), 2777 S. Crystal Dr., Arlington, VA 22202.
