"NOAA’s National Ocean Service (NOS) works to balance people’s use of the coast with conservation of the nation’s coastal and ocean resources. Thus, NOS’s mission is to manage society’s uses of coastal ecosystems to sustain their natural resources and services." NOS has a number of specific program goals, inlcuding the study of climate change.
