Report Request by Congress Said to Show Interest Growing in Data Quality Standards
A congressional request that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issue a report on federal agencies' compliance with the Data Quality Act illustrates members' growing interest in the governmentwide standards, a former OMB official told BNA Feb. 12.

Jim Tozzi, who serves on the advisory board of the Center for Regulatory Effectiveness (CRE), a government watchdog group, was commenting on a small section of a report that accompanies the 455-page Consolidated Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2004 (P.L. 108-199), which provided appropriations for more than one dozen departments and agencies including OMB. Tozzi formerly served as deputy director of OMB's regulatory review office.
