University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences breaks ground on new bee lab Monday

The honey bee lab will open in June 2018

After four years and two vetoes by Gov. Rick Scott, ground broke on Monday for the new beekeeping research lab at UF.

Last year, the state granted UF $2 million, with the requirements that the university match that amount with $500,000 and the beekeepers raise an additional $200,000.
