EPA's Draft Guidance On Development, Evaluation And Application Of Environmental Regulatory Models
EPA's Council on Regulatory Environmental Modeling has produced a Draft Guidance on the Development, Evaluation, and Application of Regulatory Environmental Models. This Draft Guidance addresses many of the issues that stakeholders have raised about EPA' s use of models, including use of proprietary models. While the Draft Guidance is limited to EPA, it will likely influence other agencies' use of models. CREM's website states that the Draft Guidance is currently being reviewed by EPA's Science Advisory Board. Following completion of SAB review, CREM intends to publish the Draft Guidance in the Federal Register for public comment.
