Commerce Recommends That OMB Help Boost Manufacturing
The Department of Commerce has released its Report Manufacturing in America: A Comprehensive Strategy to Address the Challenges to U.S. Manufacturers. This Report is the Bush Administration's plan to boost manufacturing in the United States. It proposes that the Office of Management and Budget play a key role in creating conditions that enhance U.S. economic growth and manufacturing competitiveness. The Report recommends that OMB (i) establish an inventory of potential regulatory reforms that lower manufacturing costs; (ii) analyze and implement appropriate regulatory reforms; and (iii) conduct regulatory impact analysis of new rules.
