Agriculture Joins EPA in Asking NTP to Withdraw Atrazine from RoC Review
The National Toxicology Program has proposed reviewing atrazine for possible listing in NTP's 12th Report on Carcinogens. During the first NTP comment period, the United States Environmental Protection Agency asked NTP to withdraw atrazine from RoC review. EPA'c comments pointed out that after years of review, EPA recently concluded that atrazine was not likely to be a human carcinogen. Consequently, there was no reason for NTP review. In the second NTP comment period, the Department of Agriculture incorporated EPA's comments by reference and also asked that atrazine be withdrawn from RoC review. CRE has filed a Data Quality Act Petition on the atrazine RoC review proposal. The National Institute of Health, NTP's parent agency, granted itself an extension of time to respond to CRE's Petition
