NOAA Seeks Public Comment on Arctic Climate Change Report
On August 11, 2008, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration sought public comment on its draft report "Past Climate Variability and Change in the Arctic and at High Latitudes." Public comments must be received by NOAA by September 25, 2008.
NOAA’s Federal Register notice of the comment period explains, "This draft report is being released solely for the purpose of the pre-dissemination peer review under applicable information quality guidelines. It does not represent and should not be construed to represent any Agency policy or determination."
This Arctic climate change report was drafted by the U.S. Climate Change Science Program. The CCSP was established by the President in 2002 to coordinate and integrate scientific research on global change and climate change sponsored by 13 participating departments and
agencies of the U.S. Government.
