Corps Takes Comments and Holds Public Meetings on Missouri River Ecosystem Restoration Plan
On April 16, 2009, the U.S. Corps of Engineers asked for comments on the Corps' Ecosystem Restoration Plan for the United States' Missouri River Basin. This request for comments follows the Corps' January 26, 2009, Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the preparation of the Missouri River Ecosystem Restoration Plan, available online at http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/E9-1629.htm.

As part of this enormous effort, the Corps is hosting public meetings. The first official phase of public scoping will occur from May 1, 2009, through December 1, 2009. This phase will address the plan purpose, need, and target resource identification. For more information about these public meetings, and to learn more about the project, visit the Corps' Missouri River Ecosystem Restoration Plan website at http://www.moriverrecovery.org/mrrp/f?p=136:11:4430663203859952.

The Corps will accept written comments on the Plan beginning May 1, 2009, and ending December 1, 2009, Late comments will be considered to the extent possible. http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/E9-8739.htm
