Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection Proposes Data Quality Guidelines
On August 2, 2012, the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection published Federal Register notice proposing Information Quality Act Guidelines for comment. These Guidelines are intended to ensure and maximize the quality, objectivity, utility, and integrity of information disseminated by the Bureau. These guidelines also detail the administrative mechanisms developed by the Bureau to allow affected persons to seek and obtain appropriate correction of information maintained and disseminated by the Bureau that does not comply with the Office of
Management and Budget's government-wide Guidelines or with the Bureau's Guidelines. Public comments on the proposed Guidelines must be received by the Bureau by September 4, 2012.
