EPA Seeks Comment on Proposed Revisions to Criteria Pollutant Monitoring Requirements
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has proposed revisions to ambient air monitoring requirements for criteria pollutants under the U.S. Clean Air Act. EPA states that the purpose of these proposals is to provide clarifications to existing requirements to reduce the compliance burden of monitoring agencies operating ambient networks. These proposals focus on reorganizing and clarifying quality assurance requirements, simplifying and reducing data reporting and certification requirements, clarifying the annual monitoring network plan public notice requirements, revising certain network design criteria for nonsource lead monitoring, and addressing other issues in part 58 Ambient Air Quality Surveillance Requirements.

EPA must receive any comments on these proposals on or before November 10, 2014.
