BOEM Extends Comment Period on OCS Risk Management, Financial Assurance and Loss Prevention
The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has extended the public comment period on BOEM’s Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding various risk management and monitoring activities. These activities pertain to financial risks to taxpayers that may result from oil and gas and other activities on the Outer Continental Shelf. BOEM has received comments on its ANPR indicating that the number of issues being addressed and the complexity of the topics being considered justify a longer comment period. Various groups have also requested that additional time be provided to review and analyze the ANPR. For these reasons, BOEM has is extending the comment period to November 17, 2014.
