SEC Proposes Rules of Practice Changes
The U.S Securities and Exchange Commission has proposed for public comment two sets of amendments to the SEC’s Rules of Practice. The first set would require persons involved in administrative proceedings to submit all documents and other items electronically.

  • Click here to read the SEC’s Federal Register notice of these proposed changes.

  • The second set of amendments would update the SEC’s Rules of Practice to, among other things, adjust the timing of hearings in administrative proceedings; allow for discovery depositions; clarify the rules for admitting hearsay and assertion of affirmative defenses; and make certain related amendments.

  • Click here to read the SEC’s Federal Register notice of these proposed changes.

  • Comments on both sets of proposed changes should be received by the SEC on or before December 4, 2015.
