FWS Updates List of ESA Candidates
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has published an updated list of plant and animal species native to the United States that the Service regards as candidates for or has proposed for addition to the Lists of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended. This CNOR summarizes the status and threats that FWS has evaluated in order to determine that species qualify as candidates, to assign a listing priority number to each species, and to determine whether a species should be removed from candidate status. This document also includes FWS' findings on resubmitted petitions and describes the Service's progress in revising the Lists of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants during the period October 1, 2014, through September 30, 2015. FWS will accept information on any of the species in this Candidate Notice of Review at any time.
