OMB Seeks Comment on FOIA Changes
The Office of Management and Budget seeks publiccomment on a proposed rule that wouldrevise OMB's regulations implementing the Freedom of Information Act. Theserevisions are being proposed toimplement the FOIA and incorporatethe provisions of the OPEN GovernmentAct of 2007 and the FOIA ImprovementAct of 2016 as well as to streamlineOMB's FOIA regulations by structuringthe text of the regulation in an ordermore similar to that of the Department of Justice's FOIA regulation andthe DOJ Office of Information Policy's Guidance for Agency FOIA Regulations.Comments are due to OMB on or before September 24, 2018.
