Comment on Petition for Rules Prohibiting DOE Issuing, Relying on, or Defending Improper Agency Guidance
On August 2, 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy received a petition from the New Civil Liberties Alliance asking DOE to initiate a rulemaking to prohibit any DOE component from issuing, relying on, or defending improper agency guidance. The petitioners cite and rely on OMB Guidance and Memoranda in support of their petition. DOE seeks public comment on the petition, as well as any data or information that could be used in DOE determination whether to proceed with the petition.
