Irish and British animal protection agencies are joining forces to tackle gangs that illegally farm pedigree puppies and ship them to Britain for sale.
The transport of high numbers of puppies to Britain on ferries has become an organised industry generating millions of euro and involves drug and cigarette smuggling gangs.
