Under age children sold illicit cigarettes that were a fire risk claims trading standards as off licence review is ordered

A March off-licence that allegedly sold illicit cigarettes to under age children – risking their health in the process- is to have its licence challenged.

Trading standards officer Andrew Fayers claims to have received information not only of children being served but also of being sold cigarettes that were a fire risk.

The cigarettes seized during a visit last month did not comply with UK labelling regulations, he says.
