MARTINSBURG–A Georgia man who admitted to being part of a cigarette smuggling scheme was sentenced in federal court to probation Monday for his role in the transportation of the cigarettes through West Virginia to surrounding states.
Sukhdev Singh Virdi, 46, of Dacula, Georgia, was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty in June 2017 to one count of conspiracy to traffic untaxed cigarettes in June 2017, First Assistant U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard said in a press release.
