FGV Study Shows Illegal Trade Stimulus
A study from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) has shown that Brazilians are among those who pay more for cigarettes. The research, “The Tax System and the Cigarette Market – Development, Analysis and Perspectives,” shows that between 2002 and 2009, the price of the most smoked cigarette in the country, in real terms, grew 60%, making it the fifth most expensive price in the world.
